Colorado Orchards

Special note for teachers: In Colorado, more so than any other state, the apple orchards are a long way from the major population centers. Apples are grown on the western slope, and then brought into farm markets closer to Denver and Boulder. We encourage you to support the apple growers by visiting the markets listed here, but bear in mind that the distances between the markets and the orchards makes day trips and orchard tours impractical.
The two exceptions we are aware of are Happy Apple Farm in Penrose and Colon Orchards in Canon City, which are within reach for schools in the Denver, Pueblo and Colorado Springs areas.
