Visits by arrangement. Our seasonal business is based on packing apples and pears for export marketing and local supermarket customers. Harvesting takes place March to May.
Glenview Orchard is situated in the Waikato region, near Hamilton. Within one and a half hours drive are the tourist attractions of Rotorua Lakes and Waitomo Caves. The Waikato region produces high colour sweet fruit.
Glenview Orchard started out as a diversification from sheep and cattle grazing on family land and still has animals on surrounding pasture. Of 33 hectares, 18 are planted in apples and kiwifruit. Our first plants, in 1981 were kiwifruit, our first apples were planted in1986. Royal Gala and Braeburn were considered new varieties back then. Some original plantings have been replaced with newer strains of these, Galaxy and Lochbuie. We also grow Cripps Pink (Pink Lady). Our most recent plantings are Zesprigold kiwifruit and Pacific series apples.
Zest Apple provides postharvest services to a group of dedicated growers. We welcome feedback from customers around the world.
