When you are driving through the countryside you may notice that practically every farm house has at least three or four old apple trees near it. These trees were kept to produce apples for use in the home, and typically were varieties that ripened at different times during the season to keep the kitchen supplied for as long as possible. This beautiful old tree is next to a farm house in Bellaire, Michigan.
